Welcome to The Annex Collective. I’m Alison McGlynn, a stylist since 2002 with a deep passion for education and connection. My journey began at the Douglas J Aveda Institutes, where I taught and mentored up-and-coming stylists while building a loyal clientele. For over 20 years, I’ve been behind the chair growing with my clients, mentoring others, and shaping a style that is uniquely mine, yet always inspired by the mentors who raised me and the world around me.
After a couple inspiring years in Philadelphia, my husband and I felt the pull back to Jackson, my hometown. The energy of city salons lit the spark, but The Annex was born from a deeper desire: to create something meaningful here. More than a salon, it’s a space where expert technique and mentorship thrive in a creative, caring environment.
I’ve trained with artists around the world and specialize in timeless techniques, including straight blade razor cutting, precision form cutting, and classic hair color. My goal is always the same; to leave your hair healthy, refined, and styled in a way that feels naturally you. Wearable, intentional, and rooted in what’s already beautiful.
Opening The Annex in Jackson’s growing downtown feels like both a homecoming and a new beginning. I’m proud to be part of this vibrant community and to offer a space rooted in connection, craft, and excellence.

Advanced Stylist
A graduate of Douglas J and a stylist with 9 years of experience behind the chair, Sophie has built a reputation for exceptional technical skill, beautiful results, and a commitment to continued education. Her expertise spans precision cutting, barbering, advanced color techniques, and customized hair transformations.
As a certified Bellami Hair Extensions artist, Sophie also specializes in creating seamless length, fullness, and dimensional color tailored to each guest's individual goals.
Known for her attention to detail, artistry, and dedication to her craft, Sophie consistently delivers results that are both personalized and timeless. Her passion for continued education and professional growth, combined with her experience and leadership, has made her a valued mentor within The Annex.

Cheyenne
Level Two Stylist
Since graduating from Atlas Academy, Cheyenne has remained committed to continual growth through advanced education, industry classes, and hands-on training. Her dedication to refining her technical skills and delivering exceptional guest experiences has allowed her to build a loyal and growing clientele in a remarkably short time.
Known for her warm, welcoming nature and attention to detail, Cheyenne creates a comfortable experience while helping guests achieve results tailored to their individual style and goals. Her passion for her craft, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence are evident in every service she provides.

Lilly
Protégé Stylist
Lilly has quickly become a guest favorite at The Annex thanks to her natural talent, fun and welcoming personality, and dedication to her craft. She especially loves creating beautiful blonde transformations and dimensional color, delivering customized results that are both modern and effortlessly beautiful.
Through extensive assisting, continued education, and hands-on experience behind the chair, Lilly has developed her skills at an impressive pace. Her strong work ethic, passion for the industry, and commitment to growth are evident in every appointment. She also offers Bellami Hair Extensions for guests looking to add length, fullness, or both.
As a Level 1 Stylist, Lilly continues to work closely with Alison and the senior team at The Annex while furthering her education and refining her craft. Lilly is currently accepting appointments for all services offered at The Annex Collective.

Caylee has continued to invest in her growth through advanced education and hands-on training, building a strong foundation behind the chair while refining her technical skills and artistry. Her dedication to continual learning and commitment to beautiful, customized results have allowed her to quickly develop confidence and versatility behind the chair.
Known for her calm presence, thoughtful approach, and attention to detail, Caylee creates customized looks that feel effortless, modern, and wearable. She has a particular eye for highlighting and lived-in color, helping guests achieve beautiful, low-maintenance results tailored to their lifestyle.
As a Level 1 Stylist, Caylee continues to collaborate closely with Alison and the senior team at The Annex. Caylee is currently accepting appointments for all services offered at The Annex Collective.
